My personal favorite kids activity all summer!
There’s no better way to spend Friday this summer!
5pm the fun starts – live music, local vendors, kids play zone nestled in our town’s favorite park!
Then DUSK hits and its movie time! Bring the chairs, pillows, cozy camping comfies, and watch these CLASSIC movies with your neighbors.
Real talk, my kids look forward to this every week! You don’t want to miss out!

Sometimes the best outings aren’t the obvious ones.
This guide highlights a few unexpected places around Woodland where kids end up staying longer than planned – and parents actually enjoy!
Laurel Market
Where shopping and playtime meet.
Laurel Market just upgraded to a new location – more stock for parents to browse the most adorable assortment of home goods you can imagine; clothes, books, kitchen stuff, delicious local crafts and treats, kitchenware.. it’s a shop you can get lost in!
Best Part – Kids have a spot too.
Laurel Market made a kids play and hang area in the store. They can do their thing while you do yours.
Alcove Coffee sits inside so you can you can get a quick pick-me-up or finally meet up with that mom friend you’ve been rescheduling with. Because let’s face it – moms need a playdate too.
Woodland Corner Store
Go Upstairs – You’ll thank me later.
Woodland Corner store has everything a kid stops and hangs for! Not only do they have amazing pizza, sandwiches, fresh local snacks, and tasty ice cream downstairs..
But upstairs is the place to be.
There’s a space to sit, relax, and games to keep the kids busy. It’s cozy and full of that small town charm. Such an easy spot to hang and enjoy yourselves as a family.
If you particularly love it – they rent out the space to events and celebrations of all kinds!
AND they’ve got some outdoor seating if the kids needs some sun! It’s a win for everyone.
Woodland Community Library
There’s way more than just books.
OK OK – We all know the Weekender is a huge fan of the library. But the way Woodland’s shows up for its community is unmatched.
There’s classes, storytime, movie nights, speakers or kids shows – they literally always have something going on.
The kids play area is a perfect spot to get out some zoomies while parents can sit on the comfy library seating and get a moment to chill.
And since you’ll have time → check out their “Library of Things”.. You can check out a telescope and get your night activity nailed down with just a library card. The Library is lit.
It’s the small, unexpected spots that kids remember. Its the little things that make growing up in Woodland special.
