The Best Parks, Trails, and River Spots in Woodland, Wa

A local’s guide to going outside

Best Outdoor Spots in Woodland

Whether you’re looking for a great place to walk, let the kids run around, or just sit by the river for a bit – Woodland has more outdoor spots than people expect.

This guide covers a few of the best parks, trails, and river access points around town – and they’ve all got a good vibe.

Horseshoe Lake Park

By far the most well-known park in Woodland. Horseshoe Lake is a go-to for just about everything.
Walking, relaxing, skating, biking, paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking.
Sporting a huge playground, places for parties and reunions, paved loops, and hosts the biggest community events.

There’s great shopping and food with a short walk. It’s the spot to be in town.

Austin Point Park

A quieter, more tucked-away spot – Austin Point feels like a place locals stumble upon on accident and then keep coming back to. There’s sandy river beaches – great spot to cool off. The kids can run and play while you relax near the river.

And in this local’s personal opinion, it’s the best place to watch sunset in all of Woodland.

Goerig Park

This is one of those “local favorite” parks – it’s smooth access to Lewis River is great for small boats, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and of course a solid fishing bank.

Big Thanks to Northwest Steelheaders for maintaining this spot and donating the life jacket station.

Its a Woodland favorite.

Woodland doesn’t need big attractions to be worth exploring ~ it’s in the quiet parks, the river views, the spots you come back to again and again.
